Role of the Health Professions Advising Office

All UMD students meet regularly with an academic advisor in their chosen major to assist with graduation requirements and course-related registration. The Reed-Yorke Health Professions Advising Office (HPAO) provides additional guidance and support to students interested in a career in the health professions. Through workshops, events and one-on-one advising, the HPAO team will provide:

  • INSIGHT into your chosen professional health field 
  • RESOURCES you need to achieve your goals
  • ASSISTANCE with your timeline
  • PREPARATORY MATERIALS to facilitate your eventual application to professional school programs
